Origins
The Cham people are descendants of the ancient Champa Kingdom, which once ruled central and southern Vietnam from the 2nd century until the 19th century. Today, they mainly live in central coastal provinces like Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan, as well as in the Mekong Delta.
Customs and Culture
The Cham are known for their traditional weaving, pottery, and Islamic practices. There are two main Cham groups: the Cham Bani, who follow a local form of Islam, and the Cham Hindu, who maintain Hindu traditions.

Tourists can explore Cham towers and temples, participate in traditional festivals such as the Kate Festival, and visit Cham villages to learn about weaving and pottery making. The Po Nagar Towers in Nha Trang are an iconic Cham site.
