Origins
The Basotho are found mainly in the Free State and Gauteng provinces, as well as in the Kingdom of Lesotho. The Sotho people were historically cattle herders and farmers.
Customs and Culture
Basotho culture is marked by traditional ""mokorotlo"" hats, blanket-wearing, and unique initiation ceremonies. They practice "lebollo" (initiation rites for young men) and have a rich oral tradition of poetry and storytelling.
